This beautiful and exciting beach is on the north shore of Maui island, just two miles east of Paia. Hookipa Beach has large well-shaped waves and strong winds. The waves here are strongest during the winter. During the summer the waves are weaker and smaller. This beach is for advanced surfers due to strong currents and its dangerous shorebreak.
